“welcome my son, welcome to the machine, what did you dream? it’s all right, we told you what to dream.”

This painting is an ominous view of the machine from the outside. I chose to make the idea of the machine into a physical, industrial place. The machine to me is about people falling into the lives and roles they were told to and not going their own way. For me this painting has become a reminder not to fall for the normal.

Inspired by the Pink Floyd song “Welcome to the Machine”

Acrylic on hand built and stretched canvas
